Power Yoga with Kinga

Please note, no class on April 18th.

All levels are welcome.

Kinga’s Power Yoga classes on Mondays & Fridays are designed to be exciting and energetic, focusing on making you stronger, more flexible, and enjoying yourself on the yoga mat. In these classes, she combines different styles of yoga like Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga to help you move smoothly and breathe properly, which can make your heart beat faster, increase your stamina, and make you feel better.

What makes these classes special is that teach you how to do inversions and balancing poses carefully and the correct techniques, so you can get better at them over time. Even though these poses can be hard, they have lots of benefits like making your blood flow better, making your core muscles stronger, improving your balance, and making your upper body stronger.

But it’s not all about being physical; Kinga also makes sure to include fun, breathing exercises, relaxing movements, and a peaceful time at the end of each class. Each class is different and made to help you improve your flexibility, balance, and calmness, so you feel complete at the end. Whether you’re new to yoga or have been doing it for a while, these Power Yoga classes have options for everyone.

You can expect to sweat, challenge yourself, and feel proud after each class.

Hatha Flow with Larissa

Please note, Kanwal will be covering this class on April 22nd and 29th.

This class is suitable for all levels.

Drop-ins and pre-bookings are welcome.

Hatha Flow is designed to bring awareness into the mind and body by focusing on breath and posture alignment. The Sanskrit word “hatha” can be translated in English in two different ways: as “willful” or “forceful,” or as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha). Together, hatha yoga can be described as a set of active practices that aim to achieve harmony and balance in the mind, body, and spirit. Hatha yoga is a great way to build a foundation for your yoga practice.

Each class has a focus on breath and posture, inviting greater openness in the body. Movement can be slower than in a vinyasa class, yet stillness in each asana (pose) requires mental and physical strength.  A balance between effort and surrender.  Classes may vary to incorporate elements of restorative, yin poses and mindful breathwork all accompanied by a relaxing soundtrack.

Zen Yoga with Daizan

Daizan’s classes are currently based on donations. You will find the link just after the “Attendance online” paragraph.

Zen Yoga, in particular, emphasizes three intertwined areas – physical alignment, the flow of energy in the body and awareness (or mindfulness). Mindfulness of the body is one of the four practices taught by the Buddha that lead directly to enlightenment.

Each pose taught in this class brings new parts of the body into focus so that we can become aware of any tightness or restriction. As we bring our awareness to these areas of tension, they immediately start to shift and release.

Zen yoga practice melts away the tightnesses and resistances that prevent us from enjoying the flow of life.

This class is suitable for all levels.

Iyengar Yoga with Celia

“Yoga is the rule book for changing the game of life, but in this game, no one needs to lose. It is tough, and you need to train hard. It requires the willingness to think for yourself, to observe and correct and surmount occasional setbacks. It demands honesty, sustained application and above all love in your heart. If you are interested in understanding what it means to be a human being, placed between the earth and the sky, if you are interested in where you come from and where you will be able to go, if you want happiness and long for freedom, then you have already begun to take the journey toward the journey inward. ”

BKS Iyengar

This is an intermediate class, yet beginners are welcome.

Single class £15 – Concessions available.

Zen Yoga for the Season – Online Only

Online-only open class suitable for all levels

You are invited to make a donation to Zenways – but are welcome whether or not this is possible.

Zen yoga is based on three intertwined principles: physical alignment, flow of energy in the mind-body and mindfulness.

The practice is seasonally relevant, and stimulates and nurtures the organs and their related energy channels – or meridians – associated with spring, summer, late summer/harvest, autumn and winter.

We have also focused on countering the effects of lockdown, by strengthening the back and core, opening through the front of the body – where we may have become closed by working from home – and developing resilience.

Samantha’s class is suitable for all ages and abilities, however, if you are new to yoga or to her classes, or have any medical or other issues, please do get in touch with her beforehand on 07801 697712.
